STUPID SILLY STUPID STUPID STUPID ME!!!Just attempted to put sunstrip on and I couldn't get my rear view mirror off, so I yanked it off and 'crack', it took a lump of glass with it. Now, it's not a hole but it is a deep gash and quite wide and I am very pissed off!What is my best choice?

• As I understand it from local traffic police, a sunstrip cannot go more than 20mm into sweep of wipers, regardless of inside, outside, solid, or tinted, however the factory fitted top-tinted windscreens are no problem, many of which go much more than 20mm into wiper sweep, work that 1 out???
• Jul 18, 2017  Factory tint is a part of the glass and on inside or outside it is both. Some tinting places go inside and some go outside depends on the quality if the tint being applied and car type that it is being applied to. Tints you buy from auto parts store are mostly inside do.

The bit of glass that has come off is attached to the mirror base still, so I don't know if I should just glue it back on? Or am I going to need a full replacement? I AM SO F-ING ANNOYED!

ArghhhhhhhhhhhhhhAny advice highly appriciated. Hi, just thought i'd say that i put my sun strip on the inside aswell! So it isnt that outrageous. It was one of the fading types so was slightly clear anyway. You do see the bubbles a bit but done carefully u can get the majority out using the squeegee! The benefit is, it doesnt get cruddy after a few years! Sorry to hear of your problem tho, sounds like one of those days!
