What is microsoft access. Mine did the same on all three remotes I have after I pressed the reset button. I can make it three degrees cooler or warmer but can't select cooling or warming from the mode button.

Split

As part of a home automation project me and a friend started to reverse engineer the infrared remote control protocol used by a Hitachi split type air conditioner. The model in question was a RAS-25SX8 ( manual here ) but there is no reason to believe that the protocol isn’t the same for many other models and the methods we used to reverse. Jul 05, 2011  Hi, the Hitachi Split remote control model RAR-52P2 runs normally and then out of the blue, one fine day stops displaying the temperature and the split does not cool. When fiddled with the temperature goes up to 3 C max (as shown on the remote display). It does not cool either. Hitachi 1.5 Ton 5 Star Inverter Split AC (Copper,KASHIKOI 5100x RSB518HBEA White) 3.0 out of 5 stars 89. Remote Control: Voltage: 230 Volts: Material. Any one planning to buy 1.5 ton AC for the ordinary constant speed model. Don't want Inverter AC. Should buy this AC.

I bought a replacement remote on ebay and it all works perfectly. I suppose there must be some way to reprogram these remotes but I don't know how.
